The property is very well situated amongst restaurants, bars and shops. We stayed in the Lord Armstrong Suite and it was fantastic. The room was very spacious and had all of the amenities that we could have wanted. The bath was great and meant that we didn’t even use the large shower. The bath was surrounded by led mood lighting and was an extremely nice touch as it gave the bathroom a relaxing ambiance. The room was cleaned every day and everything was replenished including the biscuits that went alongside the tea and coffee. We booked for the romantic package that includes a bottle of fizz and flowers on the bed. This was extremely nicely presented with the bottle in an ice bucket waiting upon our arrival as well as a small box of chocolates which was a very nice touch. We also ordered the breakfast basket and the service here was very simple and confident. We simply filled out our breakfast order the night before and hung it on the door the evening before and a lady came the following morning and delivered it at the time that we had specified (10am). The food was lovely. We didn’t go in the hotel bar but when we walked past it it seemed like a really nice atmosphere with music playing. The room was very well sound proofed and we didn’t hear anything including neighbours or outside. The room also included a safe and a mini fridge which were handy to have. We left our bags with the hotel a couple of times as we checked in early and checked out a few hours before our train. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with this and it made the trip much more relaxing.

Location is amazing, quick straight walk from the train station Newcastle. I have stayed with them before and like that they have a restaurant and bar with fun drinks downstairs. There is an elevator. The big windows with lavish curtains allow a soft light into the room. Shower was good. The kettle and tea in the room was nice to have. The staff was really kind. I got food poisoning on my last evening and spent all night in the bathroom. In the morning I had asked if a banana could be sent to the room, since I had to have something in my stomach. I felt too weak and nauseous to stand up for more than a minute, for which I requested an hour added to the check out time. All through the phone in the room, it was not a problem at all! Again the staff was really kind and comforting when I told them about it during my check-out. I had panicked, since I was alone, but checked out feeling okay and comforted.

This hotel is centrally located with close proximity/easy walking to the shopping square and city center. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. Blocks from river and historical river walk. Refurbished older building, well-appointed rooms and central reception area. Breakfast offering was extensive with ability to order from menu as well as buffet items. Room had comfortable beds, spacious bathroom with amenities, coffee/tea/water in-room. Our room faced the street but we were sufficiently high up that street noise did not bother us. Room (temperature was comfortable and windows opened to allow fresh air - a real treat.

The location, friendliness of all the staff, the decor of the room & bathroom all amazing. I went for the bigger bed because they don't do singles, it was huge & we slept like a dream so happy. Loads of extras shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, non slip shower mat, towels, hand cream, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, tin of local water. We had street view which was nice but also noisy at night. Old building so lots of steps but they have a lift but still steps once you get to your floor. The chambermaid were so friendly & helpful.

Definitely had the vibe of a boutique hotel. It was a converted 19th century building so the ceilings were about 10ft high which made a smaller room seem really spacious. There was a full wardrobe and the bathroom was bigger than normal. The staff were all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was good including gf toast. As the name implies it was on Grey Street which is an elegant street with just a 5 minute walk to the Greys memorial and the centre of everything. It qas also just 5 minutes the other way to the riverfront walk.
